I worked with Affordable Interior Design to decorate my living room, dining room, master bedroom, home office and patio. I would HIGHLY recommend them! Anita Magyar (their Westchester designer) is an incredible designer. She is very thorough, responsive, decisive - really worked with me to understand my design sense (even when I wasn't quite sure how to describe it). I loved everything she came back with! She was also flexible to make some tweaks when I wanted to look at another option for my decor. My home turned out beautifully and Anita saved me a ton of time in the process! She helped me pick out unique options which I would not have been able to come up with on my own and I am so happy with the results! She also really worked with my budget and picked out a mix of reasonable vs. high end options. I plan on working with her again for some home accessories in the near future and other areas in my home. Love, love, love Anita and would highly recommend working with her...P.S. I don't usually write reviews, but I had such a positive experience that I am hoping to help others who might be in the same boat struggling with decorating and hoping to find a high quality, yet affordable decorator. You won't regret working with them!

Allison worked with us on our house Westchester two occasions, designing our grand foyer, formal living room, office, master den, and nursery. The working model of the company is efficient which is important because we are busy people. I like that Allison was willing to provide "high" and "low" options so we can decide later on which items we want to spend more or less money. She seemed to understand our style very well. I also like there is no bias involved in her recommendations (unlike a conventional interior designer which is commission-based.) Will likely hire her again for any future room design projects.

I had the pleasure of working with Allison Rachlis at Affordable interior design and found it to be a great experience. We moved to a 4 bedroom house from a 2 bedroom apartment so I needed a lot of help.
I emailed Betsy who promptly put me in touch with Allison. Allison scheduled a date and came over to see the spaces I needed furnished.
I have a modern style but am Pakistani-American so also wanted certain pieces from my culture to be incorporated into the design.
Allison listened and made suggestions that worked with our family of 6 ranging from a 3 yr old to a 70 yr old.
She was a joy to work with and I highly recommend her to anyone looking to decorate their home but not wanting to" break the bank" while doing so.

I can't say enough about Affordable Interior Design. I recommend them to everyone who is looking to improve their living space. We first used them a few years ago in our NYC apartment, and they transformed the place from basically a dorm room into a beautiful space with functional living areas that is a pleasure to be in.

We returned to the company a few months ago to help us design and furnish our new beach house, which was built in 1903. Stephanie has been unbelievable. She drove to our house (1.5 hours from the city) on 3 separate occasions and spent many hours with us there doing 4 3-room makeovers, including outdoor spaces. We started with an empty house and Stephanie has provided us with one beautiful design after another. She worked one on one with my 3 teenaged daughters to help them envision and choose items for their rooms. My husband and I are terrible at visual art and all we had to do was give Stephanie an idea of the colors we like and the general style (old-fashioned to match the age of the house, but beachy too) and she took off from there. She found breathtaking pieces at affordable prices and we cannot wait to set everything up and live in the gorgeous spaces she has envisioned.

The company also has a shopping service where they buy all the items for you using their designer discount. Maggie is our shopper and she is very sweet and helpful as well. Megan coordinates everything for us and is super-personable and very responsive.

Our experience with Affordable Interior Design was all that we hoped for and more. I can't say enough about our designer, Paulina. She was engaging and personable, and she immediately grasped the style we were going for. She was full of great ideas and helpful tips (i.e. precisely where to hang art, rug placement down to the inch), and now we have a bad ass plan and a detailed shopping list for two rooms! My wife and I would definitely use this service again and would happily recommend Paulina to anyone looking to take their home to the next level.

We have had the pleasure of working with AID three times so far. The first time we had our apartment done with Betsy. I loved that design, I lived with it for about 5 years and could have lived with it for at least another five.There was not one thing I second guessed or regretted. I loved walking into my apartment every time, It was that good. I always tell her I’m convinced that our apartment sold on the first day with a bidding war in good part because of her design.

We had Betsy design the major living areas in our new home, which has a floor plan from hell . Since we had moved out of state we used her remote services. The results were just as stunning. This is another design I could live with for a very long time. The pieces and design fit everything I asked for but also fit so well with the the home itself, and it’s got such an open and beautiful flow, both spatially and visually.

I was happy with so many aspects from beginning to end, I will list them numerically, otherwise this review would go on for pages.

1,Betsy helps you determine your style, so many of us have difficulty with that.
2, She designs for the way you actually live. She understands in the real world people have kids, pets, messy husbands and yes, we do watch TV
3, No matter what the style, her designs seem
timeless and looks curated, personal and not lifted from a showroom. (I stalk her mood boards and before and afters on her site)
4, Every piece she chooses fits perfectly, honors your style and the architecture of your home. Nothing she chooses looks out of place or off scale.
5, Her whole team is friendly and helpful. When we did the new house it was just a lot so we used the buying service and were glad we did. There were very few glitches, but if an item came damaged or a wrong item they took care of it instantly.
6, Anytime you have a question or concern there is someone there for you.
7, when you have your reveal meeting you are offered not one but a few choices for most items

I’m sure I missed a few, but you get the idea. These days it’s rare that you get what you pay for, that’s why I have become a repeat client, with AID I get everything and more

Working with Ashley and Betsy from Affordable Interior Design was an absolute pleasure. The whole process was very smooth and we especially liked the different options that were presented to us via Excel. Also helpful were the directions on how things should be placed. For example, the lights, curtains, pictures, etc. It's those little details that really help make a difference.
