When looking for a trainor for my aggressive and excessively barking 10 month old Cavalier, I wanted reliability, stern humane enforcement, and a company I could trust with my puppy. I planned to meet with 3 different places before making a decision. The first place I took my puppy to be assessed was Can Ur Dog Do This?
The knowledge, commitment, and passion behind behavioral training was immediately evident. I knew within 10 minutes that THIS was the place for my puppy. He did the 30 day board and train and started that day of the assessment, which was so convenient! The two weeks of no contact flew by and before I knew it, the last two weeks were spent 1:1 with training me on his progress and corrective actions and helpful tools. I was so impressed that after 2 weeks, I signed up my 4 month old puppy for the 30 day board and train for especially commands (sit, stay, down, etc) and on/off leash training. To have two puppies walk seamlessly together next to me is incredible. Most importantly, to have two happy and confident puppies with less aggression and reduced barking habits is invaluable. As a fun aside, you can watch your dog’s journey with videos posted on their social media pages. I can’t thank Can sure Dog Do This? enough for all of the improvements I have seen and will continue to enforce the same tools as a happier owner.

My husband and I adopted our dog, Maverick, at 8 weeks old back in February. As he got older we started having quiet a few issues with him:
- Over excitement in public and with guests
- Leash pulling
- Jumping on people and counters
- Barking nonstop when told no
- Not being able to settle outside his crate
- Overly mouthy and biting when excited
In all honesty, I felt like a victim in my own home where I was no longer enjoying time with Maverick and he was crated often. I knew something needed to be done to correct his behavior. We reached out to Steve and had a consultation that week. When we walked in Maverick was a wild guy and within a few minutes of Steve handling him he was already being so much more behaved. We left and decided to pull the trigger and dropped him at a 4 week board and train the following morning.

The process: let me make a BIG note. A lot of board and trains work solely on the dog. When in reality the humans need to be trained as well. That is why we loved this facility so much. Two weeks no contact followed by two weeks training with your dog and a trainer.

When we started to work with Maverick on week two we already saw a huge difference. To the point he would be able to pass a person in an aisle without having to say hi and seeing a dog and not being phased / thinking it’s play time.

We bought home Maverick yesterday and it’s already been so nice. He sleeps outside of his crate during the day, settles without needing a toy and can be walked without us having to dread doing it.

I’m so grateful we used Can Ur Dog Do This Steve, Nick and the other trainers know what they are doing. If you’re looking for a facility to train your dog (as well as you) stop looking and contact Steve. Thank you so much for your help and we look forward to boarding Maverick with you in October!

Our 3 year old German Shepherd Britta was nearly impossible to walk on a leash and was highly reactive to other dogs. Not aggressive but just wanted to play. Once distracted, she would ignore all commands. I consulted two other trainers and was still not sold on the idea. I called Can Ur Dog Do This and set up an appointment the next day. Once I saw how Britta reacted with Steve I knew this is where she needed to go. Now Britta walks on the leash great and even off leash! Hard to believe she’s the same dog! Diane, Nick and Steve were great! Doing a follow up visit Britta was really excited to see her former teachers! Can’t recommend them enough!

There are no words to express the gratefulness for Steve Adames and his staff at Can UR Dog Do This. Peaches, my German Shepherd had some aggression towards men. To avoid any future issues, my husband heard an ad on the radio for this company. My husband brought peaches for an evaluation on 6/21 My birthday and then she stayed for almost 30 days. It took a couple of weeks, but peaches is a totally different dog. She shows no real aggression towards strangers. She walks more calmly and doesn’t pull on her leash and rarely barks at certain things. She is able to walk off leash, which we would never let her do before. I will be forever grateful for everything they have done for her and for us, her behavior is amazing. I look forward to what the future holds for Peaches and how she interacts with family members now. Steve Adames, Nick and the staff are now part of our family and always will be. To anyone who wants any type of training, I highly recommend this company Can UR Dog Do This? It is totally worth it. They handle any type of dog and any type of training.

Short version: the absolute best when it comes to training your dog - and you - so you get the maximum enjoyment from your dog.

Cosmo is a 55 pound mutt who we took in as a stray. The biggest issue he had was getting excited about all the woods around our house, and taking off running through the woods in spite of us calling him. We first tried another board-and-stay training company that ended up terribly; I found Can Ur Dog Do This and based on some recommendations decided to let them work with Cosmo for a 30 day board-and-stay.

Dropping off Cosmo for 30 days was tough, but Steve and the group promised frequent updates on their Instagram page, and availability through text messaging as well. Steve was as good as his word - frequent updates on Instagram, and if I texted a question I got an answer within a few minutes. The communication level is absolutely top-notch and professional.

Starting at the 2 week point we got to see Cosmo out in public for walks. At this point it was already evident that there was a huge change in Cosmo - walking through a store or in a public park was like having a different animal. At one point a squirrel showed up in front of Cosmo, which normally would have led to him running off and us chasing him for a long time; instead, Nick gave him a correction, and then we were back to walking through the park. These times out in public are designed to show how the dog is progressing, but it's also a good time for the trainers to show you how to work with your dog.

The real test is what happens when you bring the dog home, away from the trainers. This weekend - a week after bringing Cosmo home - we were able to walk him around our yard, off-leash, and he hasn't run off into the woods. We also spent some time Saturday just relaxing in the yard with Cosmo, and he did fantastic.

What a great experience. Our GSD, Maverick, had proved to be quite problematic and we knew that we needed help. We heard a commercial for CanUrDogDoThis and scheduled a meeting for the following day. We instantly knew we were making the right choice and left our dog with Steve and his amazing crew for a 30 day board and train. Maverick was trained, we were trained, and we would recommend them to anyone. Steve, Blair, and Nick even helped us work through a particular issue with Maverick that required us bringing one of our other dogs to several training sessions. Thank you!

We took our 7 month old GSD Günter , who was highly reactive to everything but also so sweet and smart, to CUDDT? for an evaluation. We were very much against leaving our baby for training but within 5 minutes Steve had Günter in his lap and I knew that leaving him for a 30 day training program was the RIGHT decision! We are SO happy and proud of the results!!! Günter is so well behaved we get compliments on his manners! We can take him everywhere and really enjoy the time with him. Just can’t thank Steve Diane Nick and everyone enough for transforming our baby into an amazing GSD!!! The entire staff is very knowledgeable and really care about all the dogs that they train. If you’re thinking about it, just DO IT!!! Call you won’t regret it!!! Thanks guys!!!
