1. Didn’t communicate the machine I requested was unavailable. 2. Was zero assistance at pickup, no training, no checking hookup. 3. Allowed their OWN service tech to tell me the machine was broken over the phone. 4. Charging me for transportation when I could NOT TRANSPORT the machine due to its own faulty mechanisms. 5. Was a complete jerk over the phone.
Explanation:
The worst renting experience I have ever had! Made reservations for a machine 3 weeks prior to needing it, called the day before to double check and found out the machine was still out for rent, nobody even contacted me…. Had to switch machines to a smaller machine then I had asked for, did not give me better pricing for smaller machine. Showed up right as they opened up driving 2 hours to get there, had to wait over an hour to get machine, it was on a work order. Finally got paperwork and went out to hook up machine to truck, was not assisted by anybody, never showed how to run the machine and or any help hooking up machine. Being the canyon was closed I had to drive an extra 4 hours to my destination. Began to use machine, having hired a man who’s operated these machines for over 20 years working with me. Machine worked as planned for the first 30 minutes, moved machine and it would not level itself out, spent another 40min-1 hour trying to get it to work. Finally got it to set up, used it for about 20 minutes. Re positioned the machine could not get it to level itself out again. Finally called around 3:30 on a Friday talked to a service tech, tried to trouble shoot, he said at the end it must be broken…. Went to put machine together to tow back and it WOULD NOT SETTLE into cradle to tow. Notified them. They said battery must be dead. Plugged battery in until battery charger showed the battery was charged. They had to come pick up machine. Then I was told I was wrong because I simply didn’t know how to run the machine….. aside from the fact I had an expert with me, they had done nothing to show me how this particular machine worked. And I was going to get charged almost triple of what it cost me in the first place. Horrible customer service, I never expect to get anything for free. Business is business. But I would think before charging me triple the quoted cost they would consider they failed multiple times. I would think twice before doing any business with the United rentals Eagle,CO branch.
